Description
Safety stewards are deployed to assist in the safe operation of the stadium before, during and after the event and the role is one primarily of customer care. Safety stewards will report to the area supervisor and they will be expected to call on specialist stewards for assistance in dealing with breaches of ground regulations, searching or ejecting spectators from the stadium.

Typical duties include:

* Directing spectators to seating areas by checking tickets and to be responsible for the safety and comfort of spectators within a designated area at all times.

* Monitoring the crowd throughout the ground for signs of distress or overcrowding and take action in accordance with instructions.

* Ensure that gangways and exit / evacuation routes are kept clear at all times.

* Be fully conversant with any methods or signals used to alert staff that an emergency has arisen and assist as required in the evacuation of the ground.

Requirements
Extensive training will be provided so successful candidates can attain the national qualification (NVQ level 2) in Spectator Safety which is a requirement for this particular role.
